First Station. Jesus is condemned to death.

We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you. Because by your holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

Pilate said to them, 'Then what am I to do with Jesus who is called Christ?' They all said, 'Let him be crucified!' He asked, 'But what harm has he done?' But they shouted all the louder, 'Let him be crucified!'
