THE INCARNATION

1. To deplore the unhappy state of disobedient Adam; his just condemnation and that of all his descendants.

2. To honour the desires of the patriarchs and prophets who pleaded for the coming of the Messiah.

3. To honour the desires and prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary to bring forward the coming of the Messiah; and her marriage with Saint Joseph.

4. The love of the eternal Father in giving us his Son.

5. The love of the Son who gave himself up for us.

6. The mission and the greeting of the angel Gabriel.

7. The maidenly fear of Mary.

8. The faith and consent of the Virgin Mary.

9. The creation of the soul and the formation of the body of Jesus in the womb of Mary by the Holy Spirit.

10. The angels adoring the Word Incarnate in the womb of Mary.
